Although not referenced for a parasitology book, I was recommended this by classmates as it was well designed and easy to find information and understand that information.

For each parasite, there is a black and white micrograph pictured and a description of how and where each parasite lives. The manual's Contents and Index are extensive. Veterinary Parasitology is a great reference work. Also listed under each parasite is "Importance" what the parasite does to each organism, "Diagnosis" standard method of diagnosis, "Treatment" specific medications and dosage. I only wish the photographs were in color and that they had included color photos of animals' infections. Included within its pages are all known internal and external parasites of dogs, cats, cattle, sheep, goats, birds, pigs, horses and even llamas, ostriches and emus. Included is also a short chapter on parasites which may infect humans.

We distribute these books to our clients that are performing their own fecal examinations. The simple outline approach with acurrate photographs is second to none. Couldn't get along without it. This is a great guide for new employees to the Veterinary medical field. I teach a class for assistants and we use it to help identify parasites.

I would recomend this book and hope Vet Tech Schools would use it for their studends as the main book. the book came in handy for a project I had to do for parisitology.
